Independent AI Infrastructure R&D
The best decision is the one you can defend.
Syzygyn is building evidence-driven technology for AI infrastructure—bringing real-world workload context, measurable tradeoffs, and clear reasoning to decisions that are too important to take on faith.

A promising number is not the whole story.
A smaller dataset can take longer to access. A cheaper storage strategy can shift costs into compute or retrieval. A benchmark can look compelling until the workload changes.
Optimization is rarely one number moving in the right direction. It is a decision made among competing constraints, with consequences that deserve to be understood before they are accepted.
That is where our work begins.
Introducing Marvin
Smaller is a measurement. Better is a decision.
In development · Expected launch: 2027
Marvin is Syzygyn’s flagship product in development: a vendor-neutral decision-and-proof engine for AI data compression and physical layout.
It is being developed to examine the work data actually needs to do, evaluate competing strategies, and help distinguish worthwhile improvements from attractive tradeoffs that do not hold up in practice.
Not every dataset needs more compression. Not every apparent saving is a win. Sometimes the most valuable outcome is knowing when not to change a thing.
The standard behind the work
-
Understand the workload.
A result is only meaningful in the context of the system that has to live with it.
-
Measure the tradeoffs.
Storage footprint matters. So do access speed, compute overhead, correctness, and the costs a simple ratio leaves out.
-
Keep the reasoning.
A recommendation should be open to inspection—and honest about what remains uncertain.
A deliberate beginning. A larger ambition.
Syzygyn is an independent, founder-led company with a focused starting point and a broader conviction: consequential technical decisions should be easier to explain, test, and revisit.
Marvin is the first expression of that belief. The standard behind it is what we intend to build on.
